Mária Valéria Bridge, Hungary-Slowakia


The Mária Valéria Bridge links Esztergom (HU) with Stúrovo (SK). Designed by János Feketeházy (1893). Retreating German troops blew up the original bridge in 1944. It was rebuilt and reopened in October 2001. Project financed by the EU Phare CBC Programme, which assisted applicant Central European nations preparing to join the EU.
